Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care 💧

Your Free & Grace jewellery is designed to be worn and loved — whether you’re at home, on holiday, by the pool or in the sea.

Our waterproof jewellery is made from durable stainless steel with PVD plating and is designed to withstand everyday water exposure. Our pieces are waterproof, tarnish resistant and hypoallergenic, so you don’t need to take your jewellery off every time you shower or go for a swim.

Like all jewellery, a little care will help keep your pieces looking their best for as long as possible.

💧 Wearing Your Jewellery in Water

Yes — you can wear your Free & Grace waterproof jewellery in the shower, swimming pool and sea.

After swimming in the sea or a chlorinated pool, we recommend rinsing your jewellery with clean, fresh water and gently drying it with a soft cloth.

Salt and chlorine can leave residue on the surface of jewellery, so a quick rinse afterwards will help keep your pieces clean and shiny.

☀️ Sun Cream, Lotions & Cosmetics

Sun cream, moisturisers, fake tan, perfume, hairspray and other cosmetics can build up on jewellery over time and may make the surface appear dull.

Where possible, allow creams and lotions to absorb into your skin before putting your jewellery on.

We also recommend applying perfume and hairspray before your jewellery rather than spraying them directly onto your pieces.

✨ Keeping Your Jewellery Shiny

If your jewellery starts to look a little dull, this doesn’t necessarily mean the finish has changed — everyday products such as sun cream, soap and body oils can leave residue behind.

Gently clean your jewellery using lukewarm water and a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly.

Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and rough polishing materials.

🐚 Caring for Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater pearls are a beautiful natural material, so they need a little more care than stainless steel.

Although the metal components of our pearl jewellery are waterproof, we recommend avoiding prolonged or repeated exposure of the pearls themselves to chlorine, perfume, cosmetics and other harsh chemicals.

After wearing your pearls, gently wipe them with a clean, soft cloth before storing them.

🤍 Storing Your Jewellery

When you’re not wearing your jewellery, keep it somewhere clean and dry, ideally in your Free & Grace jewellery box or pouch.

Storing pieces separately can also help prevent scratching and tangling.

What Does Tarnish Resistant Mean?

Our jewellery is tarnish resistant, rather than tarnish proof.

PVD plating provides a durable, long-lasting finish, but jewellery can naturally be affected over time by factors such as individual skin pH, cosmetics, chemicals, frequency of wear and how it is cared for.

Following our simple care guidance will help keep your jewellery looking beautiful for longer.

Made to Be Worn 🤍

We don’t want your jewellery sitting in a box because you’re worried about getting it wet.

Wear it. Enjoy it. Take it on holiday. Make memories in it.

Just give it a little care along the way.

Free & Grace — Wear the Moment.
